TouchingCode provides the filmfriend app for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets for filmwerte GmbH based in Potsdam Germany. With the filmfriend app, login is just as easy via the normal library card as on the web. The app provides the complete filmfriend movie catalogue and you can stream in full-screen mode anywhere within an Internet connection.

When provided, you can choose from different languages and subtitles at any time during the streaming of a video. If you have Apple's Air Play or Google's Chromecast, you can also use the filmfriend app to control these services and enjoy watching movies on a large screen and a real sound system.

Movie download
Another special feature of the app is the download. In the app you can download and save any filmfriend video to your smartphone or tablet. All downloaded movies can be played anytime and anywhere without an internet connection. The required download quality is preset in the settings of the app. All downloaded movies are protected by copyright and can be played several times within the app.

Filmfriend portal
The video streaming portal for libraries, filmfriend, provides a catalogue of German classics, ranging from sophisticated documentations to international art-house cinema and children's series. As a customer of an affiliated library in Germany, such as "Verbund der öffentlichen Bibliotheken Berlins (VÖBB)", you can simply register with your normal library card and then watch films of the appropriate age. At present about 20 urban libraries in Germany take part in filmfriend.
